Portal has been called one of the most innovative games of the decade. A hybrid of FPS style and a new genre of spatial brain teasers, Portal offers hours of totally unique gameplay. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals, maneuvering objects, and moving themselves through space in ways that used to be impossible.

There's a big difference between Portal 1 and Portal 2 in terms of the autonomy given to the player to find different paths. Portal 2 doesn't belong in the top 100.
Separated them...
It would be nice if this project had a discussion forum to talk over the meta-issues of the ranking. Are these games people should play because they're the most fun? Or the most important? Or are necessary for game literacy? For example, most of us probably hate playing Monopoly, but depending on what the goals of the top 100, it should probably be on the list (perhaps even high on the list).
Hey Ethan - We're going to take all of this input and integrate it into version 2.0 for 2013 ;-)
No weapons and only a portal gun, that can be hard in my opinion because some enemies will fire at the player where ever you go. Think fast before making an action
